FAQ

What genre do you write?
Honestly, I'm strictly a mood and obsessions sort of writer.  Whatever I'm drooling and obsessing over at the time, tends to be what leads me into a writing frenzy.  So, no, I wouldn’t say I’m a straight genre writer since I enjoy dabbling with a few different themes in storytelling.  I have all sorts of ideas banging around in my brain and feel I shouldn’t have to limit myself to only one genre.  My early attempts were more women's fiction and romantic comedy in feel and theme.  My latest project is a Sci-fi suspense short-story e-book series, ORIGIN...the first book The Origin Report will be my debut story and intro into the sci-fi thriller suspense genre.

Are you published?
SOON!!! Very very soon!

Where can I get a copy of your book?
For the moment, my first book, The Origin Report will be available on Kindle and Nook.  My first two novels, if I have anything to say about it, will most likely never see the light of day, at least, not without a serious re-write and some major overhaul.

What are your favorite books to read?
Well, there are quite a few.  I have to say that I enjoy reading YA paranormal romance fiction...there's been a recent explosion in the genre.  Along with the new NA genre.  I’m a big fan of (to name a VERY few) Lauren Kate, Josephine Angelini, Chelsea Fine, Tawna Fenske, Maya Banks, Emily Giffin, Sophie Kinsella and a few other witty, smart, sexy writers!

But I get my true kick from gritty, dark, edgy, take-me-outside-the-box storytelling.

I enjoy Dan Brown, Stieg Larsson, Philip K. Dick, Richard Matheson, Edgar Allen Poe, Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, Leo Tolstoy, and MANY, many others!  I'm also crazy excited about Danielle Trussoni’s supernatural thriller series ANGELOLOGY, and finally the release of Book 2 to her series, ANGELOPOLIS.  If you haven’t noticed a pattern here (because there definitely is one), I love literature that can flip things on its head and give the world a dark edgier feel with plenty of action, adventure, fantasy, and a touch of romance to really reel me in.

And if this hasn't been apparent already by the posts I've done in the past, then let me be clear...I’m a HUGE film fanatic.  My love for film is, well, hard to explain...it's an addiction/obsession..  Much of my inspiration come from creators such as Tim Burton, Baz Luhrmann, Ron Howard, Chris Nolan, Joseph Kosinski, Quentin Tarantino, Guy Ritchie, David Fincher and Nancy Meyers (among others)...whom I believe ALL to be visual geniuses.  But other than that…what can I say? I’m a sucker for dark, epic fantasy storytelling that sucks you in and then wrings you dry.

Do you have any advice for other aspiring writers like yourself?
(This will be short, because what do I know?)  I’d have to say that the advice I have to give comes straight from the advice I’ve received from other writers, and it seems to be a pretty unanimous response to this question.

1st - Read, read, read, and then read some more.  With so many great writers out there it’s a pretty good bet you’ll find someone worth your time and worth reading.

2nd - And lastly…WRITE.  If you want to be a writer, then write.  No excuses. Writers write and so should you.

THE END.
